Johnsmith New Year Newsletter 2010

Hi Folks, Johnsmith here sitting by the deeply frozen Mississippi River at home in Wisconsin. I know for most of you around the country it’s been way colder than normal, maybe it will make you feel warmer to know it was -15 this morning here. My wife Jo and I had some hot cream of wheat cereal, grapefruit, Jo’s homemade bread, sipped fresh ground coffee and watched the birds at the feeders while playing a game of cribbage. Last day of the holiday season, hope you all had some fun and rest. We had a really nice time.

2009 was a great year. Biggest news was the birth of little Juni Rae our daughter Elisi and her husband Tim’s first baby. She will be a year old Jan 10th. She’s walkin’ and jabbering up a storm.

There is actually a song to her on my new CD Gravity of Grace which I recorded last spring with my dear friend Tom Prasada-Rao. Proud to say it was # 1 in the month of July on the Folk DJ charts and songs were featured on Sing Out and Dirty Linen compilation CDs.
